Southern Ridges: Henderson Waves, Alexandra Arch

A few months back, the National Parks Board announced that it is now possible to walk from Mount Faber Park to West Coast Park with the completion of 2 new bridges, Henderson Waves and Alexandra Arch. After hearing good reviews from my friends, I decided to go and check it out for myself. I had nothing to do on a Saturday afternoon and called Josephine along for this nature walk.



I parked my car at HarbourFront and headed to the start point, HarbourFront MRT Exit D.



From here, it is a couple dozens of steep steps up to Mount Faber Park where the cable car station is situated. With a clear sky and no direct sunlight, the view from the top was beautiful.





We then headed to the Henderson Waves, this bridge links Mount Faber Park to Telok Blangah Hill Park. The bridge is really high up from the road. I have drove past the road below a couple of times and never once saw it. Being a Saturday, there were a lot of families with young children admiring this new attraction.





Moving on we walked along the treetop walk, which is just steel pathways, on to Alexandra Arch, HortPark, Kent Ridge Park and back. The sun has set on the way back and both bridges were lit up. Sadly, the colors did not change.




Overall, both bridges are worth a visit. If you want to check it out but don't want to walk too much, take a bus from HarbourFront Terminal and start from Mount Faber Park and catch a bus back at NOL Building.
